I Stand All Amazed

To help them understand the words I asked what amazed meant. Then after it was defined we all made an amazed face. It was fun to see. Then we sang the 1st line and I talked about it. Then I asked about confused and we did confused faces. Then I explained what grace and proffer mean and we sang the second line. Then I asked what tremble means and we all trembled and I explained the 3rd line and 4th lines. We sang all four. Then I asked them what they thought was wonderful. Then I explained that what Jesus did was so wonderful that we say that word a lot in this song. As we sang the chorus I had them count how many times we said wonderful. Anyway, it made it fun and explained some of the vocabulary but still conveyed the message of the song. Everyone enjoyed it!

 Even though I make mistakes, Jesus loves me. He died so I can repent and try to be 
better. This is a wonderful gift. 

Materials needed: 
 Picture of Jesus on the Cross (GAK #230). 
 Even rhythm chart & bouncy rhythm chart (see page 2 & 3 respectively)

First Line 
 What does amazed mean? 
 Can you make an amazed face? Let me see it…. 
 Sing the first line of the song 
Second Line 
 What does confused mean? 
 Can you make a confused face? Let me see it…. 
 Explain what grace means (The love we all receive from Heavenly Father, even though we all make mistakes) 
 Explain what proffers means (To offer someone something they must accept in order to receive it) 
 Heavenly Father loves us so much and he knows we will make mistakes. He has offered 
us a way to be forgiven when we make these mistakes, but we must be willing to repent. 
(talk about this more a little later in the song). 
 Sing the second line of the song 
Third & Fourth Lines 
 What does tremble mean? 
 What does it look like when we tremble? Let me see it…. 
 Display a picture of Christ on the cross from the Gospel Art Kit/Book. 
 How does this picture make you feel? (look for answers like; thankful, reverent, or even sad) 
 Sing the third & fourth lines. 
 Explain that Jesus gave his life for us so we all could return to Heavenly Father someday. 
Jesus’ sacrifice for us means that we can repent when we make mistakes & that is the 
wonderful part! 
Chorus 
 Listen to me as I sing the chorus. How many times to I sing the word wonderful? (3) 
 Now, listen to me again as I sing the chorus again & this time listen to the rhythm. Clap 
with me, and notice if there are any changes in the clapping.
